Priya S. Nayar

Priya graduated from Adelphi University's Honors College with majors in Communications and Philosophy. 
Her concentration in the Dept of Communications was Moving Image Arts and in the Philosophy Department Priya focussed her work on Existentialism and Violence.
She has also studied at Sciences-Po Paris, City University of New York's School of Law, Freie Universitat Berlin, and Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai. 
She is currently pursuing a Master degree at the New School for Public Engagement where she takes classes at Parsons and the School of Media Studies.

GERMAN UNIVERSITY ALLIANCE — New York, USA 

International liaison office of Freie Universität Berlin and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munchen 

Program Asst/Communications Officer, 2010 to Present 

Recruited to launch the North American Alumni Program as well as develop and maintain online presence. Management of a full spectrum of communications related operations. Assist Executive Director with day to day management as well as manage office database. 

Highlights: 

Playing a key role in ensuring a successful launch of North American alumni program for FUB and LMU – Germany’s two well known universities. Structured and implemented programs, assisted with alumni events 

Managing the organization’s website re-launch including design and content 

Assisted in planning and managing annual events hosted by GUA. Negotiated with vendors to achieve optimal results.

Served as a grant writer for educational scholarships and funds 


 DAV CENTRE FOR DEVELOPMENT — New York, USA 

International liaison office of D.A.V. School systems (over 700 schools and universities) based out of India. 

Director, 2009 to Present International Ambassador, 2005 to 2009 

Successfully established the liaison office for D.A.V. School systems in North America for exchange programs at middle and high schools.

Highlights: 

Successfully registered as well as maintained start-up organization’s paperwork. Hired legal, financial and other similar staff so as to successfully launch New York office’s activities 

Executed two exchange programs between middle and high school students in America and India. 

Recruited an international advisory board which includes the former President of India and some other key political figures who are interested in educational development 

Travel frequently to India for conferences, meetings and administrative duties, represent DAV as their International Ambassador and host workshops and seminars

 Member of International Communications Association. Associate Editor for CAMS. Student Volunteer for International Conference in Phoenix, Arizona (2012) 

 Associate Editor for the Ninth Conference on New Directions in the Humanities, Granada, Spain (attachment below titled int_journal_final.pdf) (2011) Presented paper at the Ninth International Conference on New Directions in the Humanities in Granada, Spain. 

Served as the Vice President of Operations and Human Resources at Danconia Management, a boutique real estate and property management firm based in New York and Philadelphia (2009) 

Served as the Media Coordinator for International Institute of Beliefs and Values based in Virginia where we produced a 6 minute DVD (pitch tape) for a ten part documentary series titled “Making Sense of Beliefs and Values.” (2009)
